We Welcome New Members!
Our Probus Club is a lively and engaged group of seniors interested in current events and offering a variety of experiences to suit most tastes and levels of physical fitness. We welcome new members and we believe you will find us to be friendly people with interests that may match your own.
Originally, membership was open to individuals who have worked in the professions or in business: hence the name Pro+Bus. Now its aim is to provide a venue for retired and semi-retired people of all backgrounds to meet, socialize and participate in a variety of activities. Membership fees are very reasonable at $55 per year, pro-rated at time of joining, plus an additional one-time initiation fee of $25 to cover the cost of name tags and administration. Our membership year runs from June until the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the second Wednesday of the following May, and members should renew for the coming year by the time of the AGM.
The Central Muskoka Probus Club was chartered as club #163 of Probus Canada on May 19th 2004, and was the third Probus club formed in Bracebridge. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month, at 10 am at the Muskoka Lumber and Community Centre.
Probus is a social club: it is not commercial and is not political or a fundraising club. Members enjoy a variety of speakers at our meetings, a vibrant monthly newsletter, dinner and lunch outings, and various events and interest group activities such as a book club, bridge club, computer group, gardening group, play reading group and outdoor activities (hiking, walking, kayaking, canoeing), etc.
Currently we have 145 members and we have an approved maximum of 190, so there is no waiting list at the present time.
We look forward to meeting you!
